CONFINED SPACE PLANNING ENTRY AND RESCUE
The Confined Space Entry Course is designed to address the dangers and safety considerations of working in confined spaces, which can pose serious risks in any industry. These risks extend not only to those working within the confined spaces but also to those attempting rescues without adequate training, planning, and equipment.
Course Objectives- ● Definition of Confined Space: Understand what constitutes a confined space and the specific challenges they present.
- ● Hazards and Dangers: Learn about the various hazards and dangers associated with working in confined spaces.
- ● Characteristics of Confined Spaces: Study the unique characteristics that make confined spaces dangerous and how to mitigate these risks.
- ● Safe Operating Procedures: Implement safe operating procedures for working in confined spaces to prevent accidents and injuries.
- ● Duties of Support Personnel: Understand the critical roles and responsibilities of support personnel in confined space operations.
- ● Permit to Work System (PTW): Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Permit to Work system and its importance in ensuring safety.
- ● Practical Confined Space Entry/Rescue: Participate in practical exercises for both horizontal and vertical confined space entry and rescue operations.
- ● Emergency Procedures: Learn and practice emergency procedures for rescuing personnel from confined spaces.
- ● Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and Supplied Air System (SAS): Inspect, don, doff, and use SCBA or SAS in both normal operations and emergency rescue situations.
